A speculative video installation that explores pregnancy as a cyclical system of rebirth, challenging the sanitized narratives that obscure its full complexity.

Set in a world where ancestral traditions and nature are deeply intertwined, the project envisions a future where the deceased regenerate into artifacts that emerge as their chosen kin reach maturity. This ritual serves as a metaphor for pregnancy, reflecting both its beauty and its burdens while exposing the realities often left unspoken—maternal health, recovery, fertility struggles, and loss.

By blending speculative storytelling, biological world-building, and immersive visuals, the installation transforms pregnancy from an individual experience into a collective, cyclical phenomenon. It examines the fragile balance between creation and consumption, questioning how we define agency when bringing new life into existence means surrendering part of oneself.

Through this lens, the piece aims to surface the complexities of pregnancy that remain unspoken, challenging the narratives that dictate how we experience and understand transformation.

Interviews are being conducted with women who have experienced a range of reproductive journeys, including successful pregnancies, miscarriages, postpartum challenges, and IVF treatments. These personal stories will deeply inform the lead character's journey, grounding the speculative narrative in the real-world complexities of fertility, motherhood, and the often unspoken aspects of these experiences.
